In addition to the high number of ongoing changes, there are several parallel organizational structures in administration and teaching. Added to this is the challenge of people working in several functions and taking on changing roles.
Actual state
Different systems are used to manage employees, students and lecturers. In addition, there are other characteristics that affect their subsequent authorizations. Students take on part-time positions or act as lecturers as part of their doctorate. All of these relationships must be managed securely and stringently.
Roles and rights must be managed via the various organizational relationships.
Solution
Identity and access management is used to centrally consolidate the people and their organizational relationships from the various source systems. Corresponding roles and rights are derived from this. These are mapped to a shared or separate account based on rules and provisioned via groups and authorization procedures in the target systems. Changes are automatically recognized and immediately applied.
This means that all users receive their authorizations promptly and always in accordance with the rules.

Manual reporting and documentation of changes is no longer necessary. Authorizations are provided in accordance with the rules without manual administration. Duplicate functions of individual persons are consolidated and implemented accordingly. Critical authorizations can be identified and prevented via a rule-based segregation of duties.

for associations and NGOs
Associations and NGOs often have a very large number of members without them contributing to real added value in terms of the available IT budget. However, many IAM solutions on the market base their licensing model on the number of managed identities and take little account of this special situation of the target group of NGOs and associations, as well as numerous non-profit organizations.
We see it differently: there must be a differentiation between the actual personnel in administration and organization and everyone else.
Actual state
The number of identities to be managed is large, whereas only some of them are responsible for managing the organization and its core tasks. In addition, the large number of people to be managed only use a small proportion of the IT systems and must be administered stringently, securely and in compliance with data protection regulations.
Countless people with low IT usage need to be managed.
Solution
With our fair-use pricing model, we also specifically target associations and NGOs, as well as non-profit organizations and educational institutions whose large number of identities to be managed does not make a relevant value-added contribution to the IT budget. For these organizations, we only charge for those identities that are either employed and subject to social security contributions, commissioned under service law or managed on behalf of paying customers. All others are operated free of charge at a ratio of 1:10.
One paid identity allows you to manage up to ten free identities.
